Many important events have taken place that eventually had their effects on what is now the City of Bellefontaine Neighbors. This urban settlement was established in North St. Louis County in the mid 1800s.
As of the census of 2010, there were 10,860 people, 4,311 households, and 2,784 families residing in the city.
At 22 letters, it has the longest name of any incorporated place in the United States.
